Seeking Participants — West End Elders Series
A photojournalistic project documenting the stories and lives of older adults in Vancouver’s West End.
Are you 65 or older and living in the West End?
Would you be open to sharing a bit about your life and being photographed in your home?
I’m a photojournalist creating a portrait series that reflects the people who shape this neighbourhood. Each participant will be photographed in their space and invited to answer a short set of thoughtful, shared questions. Together, the portraits and reflections will form a public-facing archive of life in the West End.
What’s involved:
One visit to your home (about 1–1.5 hours)
A calm, respectful portrait session
A short, recorded interview (optional to share)
You’ll approve everything before it’s used
Participation is free
Who this is for:
You are 65 or older
You live in Vancouver’s West End
You’re open to being photographed in your home
You’re willing to share a little of your perspective
This project is built on respect, consent, and an ethical journalistic approach.
